In this video I'm going to tell you about a medical supervised weight-loss program that is helping people lose fat fast.
I’m also going to tell you about the number one mistake people make, and misconceptions people have when it comes to weight loss and why this is crucial to understand if you're going to lose weight and keep it off for life.
But let me digress before we discuss these. As often reported in the media, we are an overweight nation, with 60 to 80% of the population being overweight. In my practice and my daily experience, I find this to be true.
While there are many ways to look at body composition, including weight, waist size, percentage body fat, and body mass index (BMI) (and you should use all of these for a thorough assessment), I like the BMI as a place to start, and as an initial wake-up call.

I like my patients to shoot for body mass index between 20 and 25.
Oftentimes people have no idea they're overweight because they look “normal” in comparison to the rest of the overweight population, yet their body mass index is 25 or greater – making them officially overweight.
Carrying around this excess weight, oftentimes as abdominal fat, is not merely carrying around some extra baggage.
Fat, particularly abdominal fat, is a sinister hijacker of your health causing many chemical changes like elevated insulin and cortisol, sometimes referred to as the hormone of death.
This slowly but surely deteriorates your health, leading to diabetes, hormone abnormalities (hey guys, it's turning what little testosterone you have into estrogen – YIKES!!), premature vascular disease and premature aging, to name a few.
It's been said that the preventative attitude of the majority of physicians is not sufficiently developed. Nowhere is this truer than in overweight doctors.
This is why I say that fat doctors don't lie.
If they don't understand the health dangers of being overweight, how can they instill a preventative attitude in their patients? They need to talk the talk, and walk the walk if they are going to help their patients and themselves.
I have used a medically supervised rapid weight loss program in my Medical Wellness Center for two years, and I have been amazed at some of the results.
The program helps many people to look great and lose fat fast (please see disclaimer) while educating them on how to eat, so that when they complete the program, they have the tools for lifelong weight control. The rapid results and improved self esteem are real motivators for success in many. They not only look good but they feel great.
My weight loss program is based on the hCG diet developed by Dr. Simeons in the 1950’s and re-popularized in 2007 by Mark Trudeau in his book “The Weight Loss Cure “They” Don't Want You to Know About”. Since that time thousands have used this diet to lose millions of pounds of fat.
In a nutshell, the diet entails a low-calorie diet and injections of hCG hormone – the hormone of pregnancy which is believed to mobilize stored fat and allow rapid fat loss.
The popular Dr. Oz recently aired a program on the hCG diet and the controversy that surrounds it. He admits that he was initially a skeptic. However, after researching the diet for his show, he concluded that it has been very helpful to many people and that more research should be done. He also suggested that he would not do a low-calorie diet without the medical supervision of a physician.
My program is based on the classic Simeons hCG diet and includes some important additions:
- A pre-weight-loss physical looking for hidden vitamin and hormone deficiencies that might impede weight-loss.
- Ongoing monitoring and mentoring.
- An educational program to teach people how to eat for weight control and health.
Two years ago I was a naysayer myself, and had a body mass index of 25.4 (making me officially overweight). I became curious because of the slow and difficult task of improving the weight of many of my patients. I decided to try this program, and I was amazed. I lost 10 pounds in 10 days! I lost the handles on my waist and now have a BMI of 23.3. Perhaps more importantly, I learned how to eat and master my weight control.
I have since used this program to help others lose fat fast – hundreds of pounds of FAT without any exercise at all.
This fact highlights the biggest misconception when it comes to weight loss: that is, many people believe exercising is the first step to weight loss - it is not!
Throughout the years of my practice, whenever people discuss weight loss, the next words were how they were going to start the process by exercising or joining a gym. Don't get me wrong, I am a fan of the health benefits of exercising but it is not the most important ingredient for weight loss. It can help but exercising for weight loss is overrated - particularly if you don't learn how to eat. Furthermore, if you're like me, my exercise routine waxes and wanes. I would hate to count on it for weight control.
To be clear, the most important ingredient for weight loss is diet and learning how to eat.
In my program I teach people how to eat. Now most people think they know how to eat and they do (maybe too much) but very few people know how to eat for health and beauty, which is weight-loss and body composition.
I use the time my patients are in the treatment phase of the hCG program to educate them on how to eat. In fact, I see the hCG program a great jumpstart to lifelong weight control, but it is the education and not the weight-loss that is the real benefit for most.
